Laughter is key

You know that feeling of a really good laugh; the kind that hurts your stomach muscles and brings tears to your eyes? These fits of laughter are the kind that used to get me sent away from the dinner table because if I didn’t leave, all it took was one little look at my sisters and it would become uncontrollable. Even just thinking about these great laughs I can still feel a bit of the joy I experienced because of them.
I wish I could have those fits of laughter more often, but it’s not something I can command. Instead, I need to remember that while there are many things in life to take seriously, it’s also key to remember to laugh. From listening to old clips from Mitch Headberg performances (“I find a duck’s opinion of me is very much influenced by whether or not I have bread.” Or, “An escalator can never break; it can only become stairs. You should never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.”) to watching my crazy cat attack the wall, filling my life with a bit of laughter can make my day. Hopefully you find ways to laugh everyday, too.
